TV: Star Trek Next Gen
« on: November 14, 2009, 11:48:10 AM »

K, so like...yeah.

I am making Tweaked watch all of the Star Trek Next Gen episodes, starting with 1st season with me.  It is *SO* hard because of a variety of reasons:

Top 8 Reasons it is Difficult to Watch Star Trek The Next Generation - Season 1

1) Classic Star Trek cheese in Season 1  :rant2:
2) Low Budget Effects  :ugh2:
3) Painfully obvious sets  :SNEMOTICON13:
4) Low quality transfer to DVD that is obviously transferred from VHS (some blue / green tinting in corners whilst flying around in the deep dark depths of space...hehehe) :arge:
5) Wesley Crusher...lol    At least he gets much better as it goes on
6) Tasha Yar - world's most 2 dimensional Star Trek character - her death saves the show!  lol  They couldn't figure out what her character was going to be - super tough bitch or slut?  super tough slut?  lol  :hello-kitty23:
7) The Ferengie as an enemy?  A smart one at that?   :wtf:
8) They had Riker doing some stupid shit this season - not in character for him  :nono:

Originally, the character was to be named 'Macha Hernandez' and was set to be played by Jenette Goldstein.  Yar was originally inspired by the character of Vasquez in Aliens.  Goldstein was replaced by Marina Sirtis. At that time, Denise Crosby was set to play Deanna Troi, but she and Sirtis switched roles before production began.

Oh how things could have been.

I'm keeping my eye on STO, but I'm a Star Wars guy.  I just didn't know who Tasha Yar was so I wikied it.  On the other hand, I will sit and read Wookieepedia for hours.
